Annual Connection Te Awamutu 22-24 Oct 2024

PLP Team attended the annual 2024 Connexis Linesman Competition held in Te Awamutu this year. This year’s event was co-hosted by The Lines Company and Waipa Networks. It was a
great success and was well attended.

We had so much fun at our stand, by challenging some Linesman to compete against each other in the installation of some Armour Rods and Ties. This was all done in great spirit and created
some good banter between the guys attempting this. The three days of competition saw teams from across Aotearoa compete in a series of events that put their teamwork and expertise to the test. This competition is a showcase of the skills, training, and knowledge which line mechanics and cable jointers rely on every day to keep the lights on in homes and businesses across Aotearoa. These teams are true superheroes when we need them to be.

This year’s winning cable jointer is Taylor Simmonds from Omexom in Auckland, and the winning line mechanic team is Top Energy Ltd, from Northland.

 It was also announced that next year’s event will be held in Christchurch and will be hosted by Orion and Connetics.
