PLP NZ welcomes the Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon

We had the honour of welcoming the Rt Hon Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand, to our East Tamaki Head Office and factory as part of our 75th birthday celebrations — a milestone moment for PLP New Zealand and a tribute to our rich history since 1950.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to share stories, snap a few selfies, and highlight the incredible journey from Electropar to what PLP NZ is today.
The Prime Minister took a real interest in how our engineering and manufacturing teams are supporting critical energy infrastructure across New Zealand and Australia — especially in the areas of renewables and decarbonisation.

True to form, it was a very hands-on visit. He operated our new Haas CNC machines, a 350kN tensile test bed, a 200T hydraulic press, and even operated our Kardex vertical storage system!
