Heat Cycle Testing
Conductor Up to 3000A, Busbar Up to 8000A
- The Heat Cycle Test Laboratory designed and built by PLP NZ is capable of testing and certifying conductor up to 3000A and busbar up to 8000A.
- The aim of heat cycle tests is to perform accelerated lifetime tests on conductors and fittings by operating at elevated levels of current and temperature.
- The heat cycle units are controlled using LabVIEW software. All aspects of the heat cycle including cycle timing, temperature control, current control, cycle counting, anddata logging are accurately controlled.
- The heat cycle units are readily adapted to control tests to any of the usual standards, including AS, ANSI, BS, IEC, etc.
- At regular intervals, resistance and temperature are recorded. These measurements are later analysed to determine if the fittings meet the acceptance criteria of the relevant standard.
